Part of building a successful online home business is creating a website that works well in the search engines.  Site Build It teaches this process with a step by step method which includes unique content.

Content is usually thought of as text.  When learning how to build a website that gets traffic, text based content is a must because it’s a main part of what the search engine spiders read to discover your site and rank it.

The search engines also look at other things.  The title of your pages should be named to match your keywords, but it’s also important to make them unique using a combination of your keywords and other unique words.

For example, if you are writing about a work at home business and your article is about the freedom you to spend time with your family, a unique page name may be something like this:  working-at-home-with-my-family.  Your main keyword is there, but the search engines see that there is also something unique about it.

Your domain should also feature your main keyword.  Search engines also look at your image ‘alt’ tags as well as the names of your images, which are also best named according to your keywords.

There’s a long list of steps to take to build a high ranking website, and recently another tool has come on stream.  Videos.  Google is now listing videos in with their regular search results.

The creation and submission of videos is a powerful new tool for online business owners who want to gain new and relevant traffic for their site.  There is a video course I recently discovered which teaches how to use the power of video at http://www.google-pageone.com.  By “video course” I mean it’s a course actually ON video about how to get your videos ranked on page one of Google.

What they discovered is that not only can you get your vidoes listed on page one of Google with relevant keywords, you can also increase your websites rankings as well.  They show examples of this on the free online video which previews the course.

There are many avenues for posting videos, such as Youtube, Vimeo, and Dailymotion.  With the right software, you can also feature videos on your website which has been proven to increase sales and keep visitors on your site longer.

For a successful website that gets traffic for your work at home business, it takes the right content on a website created with the right process.  These days, content can mean many things.  One thing is for sure, content is whatever feeds your readers and viewers on your website.  This same content is what drew them to your site in the first place.

Just as importantly, content will keep web surfers on your site longer with each visit and fresh new content on a contiual basis will keep them coming back for me.

If you’re a beginner, start with what you know.  Write about your expertise or a passion you have.  Before you start making videos, first build an effective website.

It’s one thing to upload videos to your YouTube Channel, but to make sales from those videos for a product or service, you need to drive them to a website that sells.  Only in a few rare successful cases is a video channel an online marketers sole source of traffic.  For most of us, it’s just one small avenue.

However, if you can learn how to get those videos, and subsequently your website as well, listed on page one of Google – that is a different story altogether.

That said, most of the free traffic is on Google through text based content.  This video course will teach you how to get your site ranked higher as well once it’s built.
